Final Presentations for “Creating Videogames” Spring 2016
May 11, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This Wednesday, students from our MIT class “Creating Video Games” will show off their final game projects to the public! Everyone is welcome to join us, and light refreshments will be served.
Working in teams, students of CMS.611/6.073J have spent the last seven weeks refining early prototypes into a complete computer game. This year, students worked on the following prompts:
- “The Norman Parable” – games which feature usability as a gameplay mechanic or theme
- “Big Screen, Small Screen” – games in which multiple players use their own screen-based device to play on a larger screen
- “Non-STEM Educational Games” – games which set out to teach something other than the usual science or math-focused topics
- “Spectator-friendly eSports” – games which are intended to play as a competitive e-sport and take into account the spectator’s experience in the design
Doors open at 2pm and the program starts at 2:10 with the following presentation order:
2:15 – Pew Pew
2:40 – Don’t Let the Door Hit You on the Way Out
