Symposia: “Games in Everyday Life”

Games in Everyday Life and Why That Matters to You

On September 21, 2012, the MIT Game Lab held its first annual Symposium on games titled "Games in Everyday Life". This annual symposium series will be held at MIT and will bring together leading academics across multiple disciplines, professionals from a variety of industries, game researchers, and game industry professionals who will discuss the role of games throughout our lives today and the potential for collaboration and development with games research at the MIT Game Lab.

This first Symposium brought together speakers who represented the six-year history of the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab to talk about what this research initiative created and to start a conversation about what the next steps for the Game Lab will be.

Future symposia will be focused on the research conducted by the MIT Game Lab as it explores the potential for play in all domains of everyday life.
